My mother's suspicious nightly outings only added to the family's burdens. I planned to buy a kite for my father and crafted a perfect story about catching kites, which I repeated to my father over and over. In order to gather enough money to buy the kite, I took on three jobs: I drowned two litters of kittens and disposed of an old dog. These acts tormented me psychologically to the extent that I could no longer face the elderly at the nursing home; only my father could understand me.
